Led by ethnomusicologist/drummer Hafiz Shabazz, this is a full band with drums at its center and repertoire ranging from ancient African to Brazilian and Latin American rhythms. Along with teaching the ethos and technique of world percussion traditions, the ensemble offers students opportunities to work closely with guest artists.
