This concert features music inspired by dances from around the world: France (Francis Poulenc), Russia (Dmitri Shostakovich), the United States (William Bolcom), and Argentina (Astor Piazzolla).  The dances are a wonderful mix of rousing and lyrical -- waltzes, polkas and tangos, plus ragtime, a gavotte, a tarantella, and a traditional freilach dance.
