Ferrer Ferran Pinocchio Symphonic Suite
Adam Rinehouse (Dartmouth Senior, World Premiere)
David Maslanka A Child’s Garden of Dream

Little can be more precious in the early life of a child than story time, an opportunity to spark imagination and play, and inspire dreams. This wide-ranging concert, accompanied with video projection and narration, looks at three aspects of childhood imagination and the stories that dreams have inspired. Ferran’s rich Pinocchio Symphonic Suite beautifully captures in music excerpts of the childhood tale by Carlo Callodi. Maslanka’s groundbreaking work A Child Garden of Dreams captures the writing of Carl Jung and his interpretation of a child’s dreams. Helping to fulfill the dreams of one of Dartmouth’s own, the DCWE will proudly premiere a senior thesis composition by percussionist and composer, Adam Rinehouse ‘19.
