Discussion with Composer Ileana Perez-Velazquez '95

Ileana Perez-Velazquez '95 will talk about her recent music and introduce her newest work for clarinet and piano, "The Window That Opens Your Soul".

"The Window That Opens Your Soul" was commissioned by the Hopkins Center for the Arts for clarinetist Patricia Shands, former Dartmouth faculty and Professor of Clarinet at the University of the Pacific, and for the Hop's Pianist-in-residence and Music Professor Sally Pinkas.

Shands and Pinkas will participate in this event, and will offer the world premiere of "The Window That Opens Your Soul" Wednesday, November 8, 7:00 pm, Spaulding Auditorium.  

Ileana Perez-Velazquez '95, Dartmouth alumna (MA, Electroacoustic Music), is currently a Professor of Music at Williams College.
