Kyle Augustine and Nicholas Browne, double basses

Kyle Augustine is a double bassist and electric bassist that performs in the Washington, D.C. area. He is a member of the United States Navy Band, associate principal bassist with the Fairfax Symphony, and member of the American Festival Pops Orchestra. He made his solo debut in 2017 performing Niccolo Paganini's Moses Variations on tour with the Navy Band.

As an educator, Kyle has served on the faculties of Catholic University and George Mason University. He is currently the bass teacher at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia, and maintains a private studio in his home.

Kyle received a Bachelor of Music in 2005 from George Mason University and a Master of Music in 2008 from the Peabody Conservatory, both in double bass performance. As a student he enjoyed summers performing at the Chautauqua and Kent/Blossom music festivals. His primary teachers were Glenn Dewey, Paul Johnson, and Curtis Burris.
