Kristina Rodriguez Salaverry DDS, MS
Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology
I moved to New York City after graduation in 2005 for dental school (and later a residency in periodontics) at Columbia University. Since finishing all my training in 2012, I now work as a Periodontist in private practice in Manhattan and also as an instructor at the dental school.
My experience being a Music major at Dartmouth solidified my lifelong passion for the arts. Although I did not pursue a career in music, I left Hanover with new levels of knowledge and appreciation that I always want to keep fresh. For that reason, I thank my Dartmouth education for opening my eyes to how important it is to always have music in my life. During my time as a student, I played violin with several performing ensembles on the medical campus. Since graduating, I have played with amateur orchestras around NYC. This year, I became a member of the New York Repertory Orchestra. Through this group I continue my musical education as the orchestra places emphasis on neglected masterpieces from orchestral repertoire as well as new music. Between being a part of the Repertory Orchestra and exploring many performances around the city, I can trace my status of being a "lifelong music student" to my Dartmouth Music Major.
