Dartmouth Piano Exchange

Through Dartmouth Piano Exchange, Dartmouth students can take beginning piano lessons (not for course credit) from advanced student pianists for a small fee per lesson. In addition to connecting beginner pianists with available teachers, the program also provides a network through which student performers can hire student pianists for their performances and projects.

Piano Lessons

Student teachers: If you are an advanced student pianist at Dartmouth interested in earning some money by teaching fellow students, please add your information to the Dartmouth Piano Exchange contact page. You must be logged into your Dartmouth College Google account to view and edit the page. For guidance in teaching beginning pianists, please feel free to reach out to Prof. Stephanie Rogers (Stephanie.Rogers@Dartmouth.edu). She can provide you with materials, methods, and other teaching resources. Feel free to use a music department practice room as your teaching space or reserve a room in the music department for your lessons.

Piano students: Are you a beginner interested in learning the piano, or a near-beginner looking to develop your keyboard skills through affordable lessons? See the DPE contact page for a list of student teachers offering beginning piano lessons. Contact a student teacher directly to introduce yourself, inquire about their availability, and schedule lessons.

Please note: Lessons organized through Dartmouth Piano Exchange are independent arrangements between students and are not part of the music department's Individual Instruction Program. As such, students do not receive a grade or credit for DPE-facilitated piano lessons.

Accompaniment

Accompanists: If you are an advanced student pianist at Dartmouth interested in earning some money by accompanying student performances, please add your information to the Accompanists tab of the Dartmouth Piano Exchange contact page. Student musicians: Looking to hire a student pianist to accompany your project or performance? Consult the Accompanists tab of the DPE contact page and reach out directly to a pianist to see if they are available for your engagement.
