After graduating from Dartmouth with a degree in Drama modified with Music, I attended Jefferson Medical College, where I met Dr. Robert T. Sataloff who was conducting the choir at the medical school. He encouraged me into a career in otolaryngology. As a doctor, I have been able to treat professional voice users and musicians mostly through the disciplines of voice and hearing. I have continuously sung in various groups, including Counterpoint Chorus, a professional ensemble directed by Robert DeCormier. Music has kept me in contact with friends touring the United States, and habrought Dartmouth graduates together in the local chorus in which I now sing. I have been fortunate enough to sing the national anthem for the Oakland Athletics Baseball Club for the past four years using the techniques that I began to study in voice lessons as part of my major at Dartmouth. As Dartmouth has encouraged us to engage in lifelong learning, I have continued to study voice since graduation. Music refills my bucket daily, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to develop this love as part of my major at Dartmouth.
