Registration Open for 2022 Tracy Piano Competition

The Department of Music at Dartmouth College is proud to present the 2022 Gerald A. Tracy Memorial Piano Competition, featuring guest judge Dr. Miriam Grosman of the School of Music at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. The competition will be held on Friday, May 13, at 7:00 PM in Faulkner Recital Hall. On Saturday, May 14, at 10:00 AM, Dr. Grosman will offer a master class in the same location. Both events are free and open to the public.

About the Guest Judge

Miriam Grosman
Miriam Grosman is a Full Professor in the School of Music at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, UFRJ. She holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts, bestowed upon her by The Catholic University of America, in Washington DC, and a Masters in Music from UFRJ, where she is responsible for the development of relevant, artistic activity as a soloist and chamber musician. She has performed at various venues in Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Austria, Italy, Greece and the United States. She is a member of the Mignone Trio, whose recordings include two, as of yet unpublished trios, for flute, cello and piano, along with excellent reviews, including from the Diapason Magazine, which applauded the CD with a highest rating of 5 "Tuning Forks." Her recordings and performances are characterized by an eclectic repertoire, both national and international, emphasizing the dissemination of Brazilian music in her CD releases and premieres of renowned composers.
