Mark Gitau '23 Releases Debut Album

Mark Gitau '23, a music producer and Dartmouth music alum from Nairobi, Kenya, recently released his debut album Proof of Life (under the mononym Gitau). A wide-ranging Afro-pop record, its songwriting promises a mellow yet captivating exploration of doubt, insecurity, regret, and love in relationships, according to Gitau. Drawing from diverse genres, it's also a showcase of Gitau's stylistic versatility as a producer. Proof of Life features performances from eleven different artists, representing five African nations: Kenya, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Zambia and Ethiopia.
