Fourteen Faculty Members Named to Endowed Professorships

Fourteen members of the faculty have been appointed to endowed professorships this year by the Board of Trustees

Since 1787, Dartmouth has recognized its top faculty with named professorships. These appointments—traditionally supported through endowed gifts from alumni, family, and friends of the College—honor faculty whose scholarship, teaching, and service exemplify Dartmouth’s core mission.

From the Faculty of Arts and Sciences:

  • Sergey Bratus was appointed the Dartmouth College Distinguished Professorship in Cybersecurity, Technology, and Society in the Meeting New Challenges of Cybersecurity Cluster
  • Devin Balkcom was appointed the Dartmouth Professor in Computer Science
  • Michael Casey was appointed the Francis and Mildred Sears Professor
  • Sienna Craig was appointed the Jane and Raphael Bernstein Professor in Asian Studies
  • Laura Edmondson was appointed the Helman Family Distinguished Professor
  • Samuel Levey was appointed the Dartmouth Professor in Philosophy
  • Christopher MacEvitt was named the Preston H. Kelsey Professor of Religion
  • Heidi Williams ’03 was appointed the Orville E. Dryfoos Professor in Economics and Public Affairs.

At the Geisel School of Medicine:

  • Nathan Goldstein was named the Joseph M. Huber Professor of Medicine
  • Carrie Colla was named the Susan J. and Richard M. Levy 1960 Distinguished Professor in Health Care Delivery
  • Yashi Ahmed was appointed to the Oscar M. Cohn 1934 Professorship.
  • Richard J. Powell was appointed to the Anna Gundlach Huber Professorship

At the Tuck School of Business:

  • Giovanni Gavetti was named the Doreen L. and David I. Chemerow ’73 T’75 Professor of Strategy
  • Laurens Debo was appointed the C.V. Starr Professor of Operations Management.
