Tuesday's issue of the virtual journal The Boston Musical Intelligencer features an interview with Filippo Ciabatti, whose appointment as assistant director of Boston Baroque was announced in March of this year. At the Hopkins Center, Ciabatti is the director of choral and orchestral programs, helming the Dartmouth Symphony Orchestra, Dartmouth College Glee Club, and the Handel Society; in Lebanon, N.H., he is Upper Valley Baroque's artistic director. He also lectures in the Department of Music, offering courses on conducting and musical direction.
BMInt's Mark Dirsen spoke with Ciabatti and Boston Baroque music director Martin Pearlman, discussing Ciabatti's background, his work at Dartmouth and with Upper Valley Baroque, and what's ahead for Boston Baroque.
The full interview is available here.
