Hopkins Center Ensembles

Eight dynamic performing groups, led by superb professional artists, offer Dartmouth students the chance to work with outstanding professionals in choral music, jazz, gospel, pop, symphonic music, wind band music and contemporary dance. Hopkins Center Ensembles are open by audition to all Dartmouth students, regardless of major.

Auditions

Auditions for the Hopkins Center Ensembles are usually held just before the beginning of each term. Audition requirements differ for each ensemble; please see the ensemble's webpage for audition information and direct any questions to the director of the ensemble you wish to audition for.

MUS 59

Ensemble Performance and Leadership

Students participating in Hopkins Center music ensembles may enroll in this three-term course to develop additional knowledge and skills in ensemble performance, music history and theory, and organization. Students will work with their ensemble director to create an individual portfolio consisting of musicianship topics taken over three terms of ensemble study. The final grade will be based on demonstrated individual achievement in the chosen topics and in a final project or performance.
